This workbook is designed for bilingual classes at Gymnázium P.J. Šafárika Rožňava and provides comprehensive exercises and analyses covering major works and authors of British literature. It includes detailed study and questions on medieval literature such as Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, Elizabethan drama including Marlowe's Doctor Faustus and Shakespeare's plays (Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, Merchant of Venice), Enlightenment and Romantic writers like John Locke and William Blake, as well as seminal novels by Daniel Defoe, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, the Brontë sisters, Robert Louis Stevenson, and others. The text offers vocabulary exercises, character and thematic analyses, and excerpts to promote understanding of the evolution of British literature across periods.
